Monsoon Footwear Guide: Staying Dry and Stylish in Satara's Rains
By Sunita Deshmukh
If you've lived in Satara through a monsoon season, you already know — this isn't light rain, and your footwear needs to handle it.
Avoid full leather for daily wear during peak monsoon. Even well-treated leather struggles with repeated soaking. Save it for days you know you'll stay mostly indoors.
Rubber and synthetic soles are your friend. Look for deeper tread patterns — they matter more than people think on wet stone and tile, which get slippery fast.
Dry shoes properly, not quickly. Stuffing wet shoes with newspaper and letting them air dry away from direct heat keeps the shape intact. Direct sun or heaters warp soles and crack leather faster than the rain itself does.
We keep a dedicated monsoon-ready range in stock through the season — ask in-store if you're not sure what'll hold up best for your daily routine.
